Alexis Hill to Aaron Ford: “Debate Me”

Hill: “I’m not afraid to engage in this time-honored tradition”

Las Vegas, NV (April 9, 2026) – Democratic candidate for Governor Alexis Hill publicly challenged her primary election opponent to a public debate on May 14, pledging to answer any and all questions from voters that night whether or not Attorney General Aaron Ford appears.

Hill issued the following statement:

“Nevada Democrats deserve to make the most informed choice possible about their next governor, including which candidate can actually win the job. I have built a genuinely grassroots campaign by speaking to as many voters directly as possible. But everyone casting a ballot in this state should be able to hear how candidates address specific and sometimes uncomfortable questions, and a publicly broadcast debate has long been the best way to involve as many voters as possible in the process.

“After months of unsuccessfully attempting to engage with my primary opponent in any forum, I am calling publicly for Ford to debate me on May 14. I am setting a date for us to meet up because I have already offered to debate Ford anytime, anywhere – in private communications, in official requests to his campaign, in social media and press interviews, and via media outlets eager to host these important conversations. He and his team have refused to even acknowledge my invitations to debate.

“I’m not afraid to engage in this time-honored tradition, whether moderated by community representatives or media outlets. I welcome the opportunity to make my case to voters that I am the best candidate to beat Gov. Lombardo in November.”

A location for the May 14 debate will be announced later this month. Hill plans to answer voter questions regardless of whether her opponent attends.
